The 2nd Annual COJGA Classic presented by US BANK will be held at Broken Top Club on June 24, 2024 with proceeds benefitting the Central Oregon Junior Golf Association.  This tenured organization has been providing meaningful life experiences through the game of golf in Central Oregon since 1993.

The funds raised this year will help support initiatives to get clubs in more kids' hands that have barriers accessing organized recreation including golf.  We have targeted 5 communities (Madras, Prineville, La Pine, Redmond and Bend) to offer FREE GOLF clinics this summer.  Anyone will be able to access complimentary registration and be exposed to the wonderful game of golf in these community-centered events.  The goal is that these events will help motivate children to take up golf and eventually play with their peers in COJGA events and beyond.

 

We will also be utilizing these funds to offer affordable learning opportunities through Bend Parks & Rec to introduce golf to more families at a price point that is on par (no pun intended) with other introductory youth sports programs.  We make it clear that you do not need specialized equipment, clothing, footwear or skills to join us in discovering golf!

GIRLS GOLF is an innovative program appealing to you guessed it, GIRLS ONLY!  By creating a strong community around a game, we can empower young women to take initiative in their own development.  Golf is a fiercely independent game, but we present it as a community-based initiative for girls aged 5-18 to learn and support each other in a low pressure and social setting.

The Fall of 2024 will be the pilot program for GOLF IN SCHOOLS in Redmond.  We aim to introduce elementary and middle school children to the game of golf within their school day (during physical education) getting them excited about the opportunity to learn the game further during the Spring and Summer of 2025 and beyond!

Your participation in this event plays a huge role in our ability to offer and deliver these initiatives all over Central Oregon.  It also allows us to employ some of our older COJGA athletes as coaches and mentors themselves allowing them continued growth through the game of golf!
